The Superior Hammock includes a full Bug Net and comes equipped with zippers and snaps to be the ultimate modular setup as well. Zip on accessories like the Half BugNet or insulated Cocoon. Snap on our Wind Protector or the Comforter as a second ‘stacked’ under quilt to get into serious winter temps. There are so many ways to configure the Superior Hammock to be a true 4-season setup. Thanks to the built-in adjustable ridgeline, you’ll get a consistent comfy hang every time! Each Superior Hammock comes with a lofting storage bag and a quality stuff sack with a separate suspension pocket and it doubles as a ridgeline storage pocket! Once you’ve tried a Superior Hammock, everything else will seem a bit complicated and well.. inferior.
The Elite Superior Hammock functionality is exactly the same as the Performance Superior Hammock, but takes our already optimized Superior Hammock design to the limit of performance using lighter materials without sacrificing the weight rating or our famous cozy warmth. The Elite Superior Hammock is about 20% less weight and bulk than the Performance line. Here’s how we achieve this fantastic performance:
– Upgrade from 800 Fill Power to 950 Fill Power.
– Upgrade from .9oz fabrics on the bottom layers to .67oz.
What allows this performance weight is our unique 3-layer design, which makes the most out of every single layer. Whereas each layer of a traditional UQ setup serves only a single purpose, the middle layer of the Superior serves double-duty as both a structural part of the hammock, and also containing down. This design also increases the warmth efficiency. Not to mention the overall simplicity.

I had the opportunity to use my insulated hammock during a weekend campout in the middle of January. The temperatures ranged from Highs in the 20s and Lows in the single digits. For the entire weekend during the times I was sleeping in my hammock my backside never felt cold, sleeping in a pair of flannel pants and an Alpaca hoodie. While the cost is a bit steep, I feel the quality, comfort and warmth of the hammock are worth it. Because I backpack more than I car camp, the only complaint I have about the hammock is that it comes with a stuff sack instead of a compression sack. It would be nice if there was a choice between the two on the site
