I used my shelter in the boundary waters the first part of March the shelter worked great I have no problems with the shelter. I recommend that you use different stakes especially if your winter camping. Pounding in the stakes with a rock they got very messed up on the top and a couple of them had a slight bend afterwards. I realized I had to repitch it and I couldn’t get them out of the ground so I kicked them softly to the and loosen them up and I had one of them completely snap the top off and two of them were bent at 90°.

Stakes were the only negative (but how many manufacturers provide them as part of the package?). They didn’t hold too well in the sandy soil out here in high winds. 9 inchers solved that.

The Superior ’12 Shelter is fantastic! It is very sleek and looks great deployed…fashionable and functional!
The tarp can be deployed in various ways, porch mode, storm mode and several in between. I’ve use the tarp in several thunderstorms and downpours and stayed nice and dry.
The stakes provided are fine in good weather but, I’d suggest beefier stakes in high winds and downpours.
And, the tarp fits great with my Yobo Gear Camper Hammock Stand too!
